Bush's crime is worse than Nixon's, and Assassinating JFK, Again

IT IS becoming increasingly clear that the Bush administration lied to the
American people and the world about Iraq.  In the face of the lack of evidence of a chemical or biological weapons program that provides an imminent threat to our country, or a link between Iraq and Al Qaeda, President Bush, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, and Dick Cheney have started spinning extraordinary explanatory tales to obfuscate the truth.

In this case there is a simple explanation for the lack of weapons findings,
and it is Bush's desire to test the power of Bush's new empire.  His crime,
which resulted in a war supported by few and opposed by many, is much worse than Nixon's Watergate break~in or Clinton's sexual indiscretion. Bush's crime erodes the trust needed for democratic government and makes war and death the province of a small clique at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

It is time for the public and the media to recognize that the effect of the
Bush policy has been a putsch of democracy. Perhaps the opposition party will consider the damage done by its previous acquiescence and act to regain our confidence by calling for the impeachment of this clique.

Assassinating JFK, Again
Neocon Media Strategy: Trash Kennedy; Hype Bush

Not content with gloating over the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the right wing and their neo~con storm troopers are now out to once again assassinate the character of our 35th President.

In his book about Kennedy titled "An Unfinished Life," author Robert Dallek claims a 19~year~old White House intern travelled with President Kennedy for the sole purpose of providing him sexual gratification. Dallek hyped his book on NBC's Dateline, on a network owned by the pro~Bush defence giant General Electric.  NBC's Dateline, it will be recalled, has a history of inventing stories in the same manner as The New York Times' former "ace reporter" Jayson Blair.  It was Dateline that faked a General Motors truck explosion in 1993 to prove that there was a critical design flaw with the vehicle that resulted in spontaneous gas tank explosions.  Only now, after ten years, is the co~anchor of Dateline, Jane Pauley, finally getting the boot.  Perhaps there should be a new journalism award for fakery:  we could call it the Blair~Pauley Award.  Based on his "evidence" about Kennedy, Dallek should be the first honouree.

Dallek is the author who previously "exposed" President Kennedy's persistent drug use.  In his book, "John F. Kennedy:  An Unfinished Life, 1917~1963," Dallek claimed that Kennedy took as many as 12 different drugs, including codeine, Ritalin, methadone, and librium, at the same time, making him a virtual zombie.  Dallek even suggested on ABC's Good Morning America that Kennedy's back problem may have cost him life.  He said the fact that JFK wore a back brace, making him sit up straight in the limousine in Dallas, made him an easier sniper target.
Dallek suggested that without the brace, Kennedy may have been saved. Nice fairy tale, but more on that later.

Dallek's first book on Kennedy was excerpted in The Atlantic Monthly in 2002.  The magazine is yet another neocon outlet whose editor during the time it published the JFK revelations was none other than the late Michael Kelly, who was virtually beatified by the media after his accidental death while hyping the war in Iraq in his role as a Pentagon "embedded" journalist.

Dallek's only source for his current scurrilous attack on President Kennedy is a 77~year~old yenta named Barbara Gamarekian.  A former White House aide for Kennedy, Gamarekian told the neocon~owned New York Daily News that she did not remember the intern's last name ~ only her first name ~ which she would not reveal.  In addition to Mort Zuckerman's New York tabloid, other neocon muck mills, including Fox News and RushLimbaugh.com, ran with Dallek's "revelations" immediately.

Dallek's only documentation on the supposed intern affair was a
recently~unsealed oral history provided by Garmarekian.  No affidavits, no
corroborating witness statements, nothing.  Other noted historians have told this reporter that Dallek's "proof" is nothing more than hearsay and not worthy of an academic~level research project.  Dallek is ensconced at Boston University, whose Chancellor, John Silber, is a noted Democratic right~winger and neocon adherent.

Dallek's publisher of his latest tome of Kennedy is Simon & Schuster, a part of Viacom~CBS, the same mega~corp operation that fired Ed Gernon ~ the director of the forthcoming CBS "Hitler:  The Rise of Evil" miniseries ~ for comparing Hitler's rise to power to America's lemming~like support for George W. Bush.

Gernon's insightful comments were made in an interview with Rupert Murdoch's TV Guide, which wasted no time in turning them over to its sister publication, The New York Post.  The Post quickly pilloried Gernon just as other neocon outlets are now assassinating President Kennedy all over again.  It is obvious that the neo~cons are now intent on rewriting our history ~ President Kennedy was a whoring, drug~induced rogue and George W. Bush is a saint who, under no circumstances can be compared to Hitler.  While President Kennedy certainly had his share of extramarital affairs, he managed to keep the planet from self~immolating itself in a nuclear conflagration.  On the other hand, Bush's antics are very similar to those of Hitler's:  the xenophobia, flag waving, threats to other countries, and invocation of a greater calling are all reminiscent of the German Fuhrer.  This reporter is not buying the revisionist garbage of the neocons.

Of course Simon & Schuster would never want to commission a history of George W's father, who was working for the CIA before and during the Bay of Pigs invasion.  Poppy Bush then worked for one Felix Rodriguez, the head of an anti~Castro Cuban sabotage team.  Bush, at the time, owned Zapata Oil, an oil and gas company based in Houston.  Not coincidentally, the Bay of Pigs invasion was code named "Operation Zapata" by the CIA. In addition, Bush's company took possession of two Navy ship's from the CIA and renamed them the HOUSTON and BARBARA, the latter named after Bush's wife, our former first lady.

Rodriguez, Bush's Cuban interlocutor, would turn up again as one of the
principals in the Vice President Bush~led Iran~contra affair.

In 1963, Poppy Bush was also tied up with George DeMohrenshildt, a Byelorussian emigre and CIA agent who took care of Lee Harvey Oswald upon his return to the United States from his political "exile" as a Marxist true believer.  Interestingly, Oswald lived in Byelorussia, where he married the daughter of a KGB colonel.  It was DeMohrenshildt who arranged Oswald's move to Dallas from New Orleans.

A Nov. 1963 FBI memo to the State Dept. said there was concern that there might be another invasion of Cuba by anti~Castroites.  The memo went on to state that this information was passed along to "George Bush of the Central Intelligence Agency" the day after the assassination of JFK.  In 1977, just before he was to testify before the House Select Committee on Assassinations, deMohrenshildt was found dead of a gun shot wound.  In his personal address book was found the following entry:

"Bush, George H. W. (Poppy) 1412 W. Ohio also Zapata Petroleum Midland."
DeMohrenshildt's son~in~law told the Warren Commission that his father~in~law was likely involved with JFK's assassination. That makes George H. W. Bush a possible accomplice in aiding and abetting the murder of our 35th President.  So it isn't President Kennedy's record that should be in question right now but that of Poppy Bush.  It is the Bush record of involvement with murderers in Dallas and on the streets of Washington (the bombing murder of Chile's former Foreign Minister Orlando Letelier) that should be the topic of Simon & Schuster books, NBC Dateline interviews, and the rest of the mega~corporation news media.

It is not the history of John F. Kennedy that should be the subject of
scandalous attacks by the neocon media and their repugnant water bearers.
Rather, historians and the media should concentrate on the sordid history of the Bush family.  Through three generations, the Bushes have been the dots who have connected American business to the Nazis (Prescott or "Grandpoppy" Bush was a notorious financial underwriter of Nazi German industries during World War II), the assassination of President Kennedy, the Iran~contra scandal, the stealing of an American presidential election, and now, sadly and according to Florida Senator Bob Graham, may have had foreknowledge of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the results of which, in effect, abrogated the U.S. Constitution.

While this country tries to sort out the terrible calamities visited upon it by the Bush~Cheney regime, a note to the Bushes and their neocon bottom feeders:  you've done enough damage to the Kennedy family ~ let President Kennedy rest in peace.

"The Kennedy Assassination:  The Nixon~Bush Connection"

A newly discovered FBI document reveals that George Bush was directly
involved in the 1963 murder of President John Kennedy.  The document places Bush working with the now~famous CIA agent, Felix Rodriguez, recruiting right~wing Cuban exiles for the invasion of Cuba.  It was Bush's CIA job to organize the Cuban community in Miami for the invasion.  The Cubans were trained as marksmen by the CIA. Bush at that time lived in Texas.  Hopping from Houston to Miami weekly, Bush spent 1960 and '61 recruiting Cubans in Miami for the invasion.  That is how he met Felix Rodriguez. 

You may remember Rodriguez as the Iran~contra CIA agent who received the first phone call telling the world the CIA plane flown by Gene Hasenfus had crashed in Nicaragua. As soon as Rodriguez heard that the plane crashed, he called his long~time CIA supervisor, George Bush.  Bush denied being in the contra loop, but investigators recently obtained copies of Oliver North's diary, which documents Bush's role as a CIA supervisor of the contra supply network. 

In 1988 Bush told Congress he knew nothing about the illegal supply flights
until 1987, yet North's diary shows Bush at the first planning meeting Aug. 6, 1985. Bush's "official" log placed him somewhere else.  Such double sets of logs are intended to hide Bush's real role in the CIA; to provide him with "plausible deniability."  The problem is, it fell apart because too many
people, like North and Rodriguez, have kept records that show Bush's CIA role back to the 1961 invasion of Cuba. (Source: The Washington Post, 7/10/90).  

That is exactly how evidence was uncovered placing George Bush working with Felix Rodriguez when JFK was killed.  A memo from FBI head J. Edgar Hoover was found, stating that, "Mr. George Bush of the CIA had been briefed on November 23rd, 1963 about the reaction of anti~Castro Cuban exiles in Miami to the assassination of President Kennedy. (Source: The Nation, 8/13/88).  On the day of the assassination Bush was in Texas, but he denies knowing exactly where he was.  Since he had been the supervisor for the secret Cuban teams, headed by former Cuban police commander Felix Rodriguez, since 1960, it is likely Bush was also in Dallas in 1963.  Several of the Cubans he was supervising as dirty~tricks teams for Nixon, were photographed in the Zapruder film.  In 1959 Rodriguez was a top cop in the Cuban government under Batista.  When Batista was overthrown and fled to Miami, Rodriguez went with him, along with Frank Sturgis and Rafael Quintero.  Officially, Rodriguez didn't join the CIA until 1967, after the CIA invasion of Cuba, in which he participated, and the assassination of JFK.  But records recently uncovered show he actually joined the CIA in 1961 for the invasion of Cuba when he was recruited by George Bush.

That is how Rodriguez claims he became a "close personal friend of Bush."  Then "officially" Rodriguez claims he quit the CIA in 1976, just after he was sent to prison for his role in the Watergate burglary.  However, according to Rolling Stone reporters Kohn & Monks (11/3/88), Rodriguez still goes to CIA headquarters monthly to receive assignments and have his blue 1987 bulletproof Cadillac serviced.  Rodriguez was asked by a Rolling Stone
reporter where he was the day JFK was shot, and claims he can't remember.

George Bush claims he never worked for the CIA until he was appointed
director by former Warren Commission director and then President Jerry Ford, in 1976.  Logic suggests that is highly unlikely.  Of course, Bush has a
company duty to deny being in the CIA.  The CIA is a secret organization.  No one ever admits to being a member.  The truth is that Bush has been a top CIA official since before the 1961 invasion of Cuba, working with Felix
Rodriguez.  Bush may deny his actual role in the CIA in 1959, but there are
records in the files of Rodriguez and others involved in the Bay of Pigs
invasion of Cuba that expose Bush's role.  The corporations would not put
somebody in charge of all the state secrets held by the CIA unless he was
experienced and well trained in the CIA. (Source: Project Censored Report,

Recently I interviewed former CIA liaison officer L. Fletcher Prouty.  He is a consultant for the excellent new movie on how the CIA killed JFK, being made by Oliver Stone.  He told me that one of the projects he did for the CIA was in 1961 to deliver US Navy ships from a Navy ship yard to the CIA agents in Guatemala planning the invasion of Cuba.  He said he delivered three ships to a CIA agent named George Bush, who had the 3 ships painted to look like they were civilian ships.  That CIA agent then named the 3 ships after:  his wife, his home town, and his oil company. He named the ships:  Barbara, Houston, and Zapata.  Any book on the history of the Bay of Pigs will prove the names of those 3 ships.

  Again, this is more finger prints of George Bush's involvement in the Bay of Pigs invasion.   Yet Bush denies his role in this great adventure.  Why would Bush be so shy about his role in this war?  What is the secret? 

 Is there something dirty about this war that Bush & Nixon don't want the public to know about?  Answer: Yes there is.  The same people involved in the Bay of Pigs were the people involved in the Watergate burglary.  Why was the Watergate burglarised [sic]?  The CIA was trying to plug up a possible news leak.  They were trying to stop the Democrats from publishing the photos of Hunt & Sturgis under arrest for the murder of JFK (May 7, 1977, SF Chronicle.)

Presently, there is a law suit attempting to force the government to release the records about the Bay of Pigs invasion.  Why are those documents still secret?  Why are they locked in the National Archives along with all the
photos from [the] Dallas assassination of JFK?  Why are the 4000 hours of
Watergate tapes in which Nixon is babbling about the mysterious connections between the Bay of Pigs, Dallas, and Watergate also being sealed in the National Archives?  Is it because all three incidents are connected?  Yes. Thanks to Oliver Stone's blockbuster new movie on JFK there is now sufficient national movement to reopen all these cases.  The White House fears Stone's new movie so much that they have hired more CIA journalists to slander the movie and Stone.  Don't fall for it.  Every serious investigator now agrees that Oswald did NOT shoot JFK.  That James Earl Ray did NOT shoot Dr. Martin Luther King and that Sirhan Sirhan did NOT shoot Robert Kennedy.  These cases must be reopened so that Sirhan and Ray can be set free.  The only bar that keeps Sirhan in prison is the tremendous anti~Arab racism in Americans:  in both blacks & whites.   According to a biography of Richard Nixon, his close personal and political ties with the Bush family go back to 1941 when Nixon claims he read an ad in a L. A. newspaper, placed by a wealthy group of businessmen, led by Prescott Bush, the father of George Bush.  They wanted a young, malleable candidate to run for Congress.  Nixon applied for the position and won the job.  Nixon became a mouthpiece for the Bush group.   Newly discovered FBI documents prove that Jack Ruby has been an employee of Richard Nixon since 1947.  That that [sic] FBI document Ruby is listed as working as a spy & hit man for Nixon.  On Nov. 22, 1963 Ruby was seen by a women who knew him well, Julian Ann Mercer, approximately an hour before the arrival of JFK's motorcade, unloading a man carrying a rifle in a case at the Grassy Knoll from his car.  Ruby later was seen on national TV killing a witness who could link Nixon & Bush to the killing of JFK:  Oswald.  (On the Trail of the Assassins, Garrison, p xiii.)

Richard Nixon was Vice President from 1952 until 1960.  In fact, Nixon was given credit for planning Operation 40, the secret 1961 invasion of Cuba, during his 1959 campaign for President.  After Batista was kicked out by the starving people of Cuba, and Fidel Castro came to power, Castro began telling American corporations they would have to pay Cuban employees decent wages.  Even worse, Pepsi Cola was told it would now have to pay world market prices for Cuban sugar.  Pepsi, Ford Motor Co., Standard Oil, and the Mafia drug dealers decided Fidel had to be removed since his policies of requiring corporations to pay market wages was hurting their profits.  So the corporations asked then Vice~President Nixon to remove Fidel. 

  Nixon promised he would, just as soon as he'd won the 1960 elections against some underdog, an unknown Democrat named John Kennedy.  It would be an easy victory for Nixon.  The polls had Nixon winning by a landslide.  Besides, Kennedy was a Catholic, and Americans would no more elect a Catholic President than they would elect a woman, a black, or a Jew.  This was 1959. Nixon told Pepsi, Standard Oil and other corporations who lost property given back to the farmers of Cuba, that if they would help him win, he would authorize an invasion to remove Castro.  To further impress contributors to his campaign, then Vice~President Nixon asked the CIA to create Operation 40, a secret plan to invade Cuba, just as soon as he won.  The CIA put Texas millionaire and CIA agent George Bush in charge of recruiting Cuban exiles into the CIA's invasion army.  Bush was working with another Texas oilman, Jack Crichton, to help him with the invasion.  A fellow Texan, Air Force General Charles Cabel, was asked to coordinate the air cover for the invasion. Most of the CIA leadership around the invasion of Cuba seems to have been people from Texas.  A whole Texan branch of the CIA is based in the oil business.  If we trace Bush's background in the Texas oil business we discover his two partners in the oil~barge leasing business:  Texan Robert Mosbacher and Texan James Baker.  Mosbacher is now Secretary of Commerce and Baker is Secretary of State, the same job Dulles held when JFK was killed.

On the Watergate tapes, June 23, 1972, referred to in the media as the "smoking gun" conversation, Nixon and his Chief of Staff, H.R. Haldeman, discussed how to stop the FBI investigation into the CIA Watergate burglary.  They were worried that the investigation would expose their connection to "the Bay of Pigs thing."  Haldeman, in his book The Ends of Power, reveals that Nixon always used code words when talking about the 1963 murder of JFK.  Haldeman said Nixon would always refer to the assassination as "the Bay of Pigs."  On that transcript we find Nixon discussing the role of George Bush's partner, Robert Mosbacher, as one of the Texas fundraisers for Nixon.  On the tapes Nixon keeps referring to the "Cubans" and the "Texans."  The "Texans" were Bush, Mosbacher, and Baker.

  This is another direct link between Bush and evidence linking Nixon and Bush to the Kennedy assassination.  In the same discussion Nixon links "the Cubans", "the Texans", "Helms" ,"Hunt", "Bernard Barker", Robert "Mosbacher", and "the Bay of Pigs".  Over and over on the Watergate tapes, these names come up around the discussion of the photos from Dallas that Nixon was trying to obtain when he ordered the CIA to burglarize the Watergate. An internal FBI memo reported that on November 22 a reputed businessman named George H.W. Bush reported hearsay that a certain Young Republican had been talking of killing the President when he came to Houston. The Young Republican was nowhere near Dallas on that date. According to a 1988 story in The Nation, J. Edgar Hoover said in a memo that Mr. George Bush of the CIA had been briefed on November 23rd, 1963 about the reaction of anti~Castro Cuban exiles in Miami to the assassination of President Kennedy. George H.W. Bush has denied this, although he was in Texas and cannot account for his whereabouts at the time.

 Apart from the usual list of persons involved in President John F. Kennedy's assassination which comprised of certain men who worked in his administration including then CIA Director, Alan Dulles & then FBI Director, J. Edgar Hoover, & his own Vice~President, Lyndon Baines Johnson, as well as Republicans Richard Milhous Nixon & George H.W. Bush.  The three latter individuals had presidential ambitions.  President Eisenhower informed his Vice~President, Richard M. Nixon, to rely on George H.W. Bush as he would do anything for the Republican cause.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Jnr. was the Founder & Editor~in~Chief of the political periodical "George Magazine".  Earlier in the day of 16 July 1999, George Walker Bush was at the airport in Newark, New Jersey, USA which is the very same airport that Mr. & Mrs. Kennedy & Mrs. Kennedy's sister, Ms. Lauren Bessette, departed from taking their final flight.  Mr. Kennedy claimed he had no political ambitions but there have been investigative reports which stated otherwise.  George Walker Bush & George Herbert Walker Bush, so far, have "got away" with stealing the presidential election 2000 (despite the fact that everyone knows The Truth) with the help of the "INsupreme" Court of the USA who selected George W. Bush as pResident.  If John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Jnr. had been a future opponent of George Walker Bush, there would have been no way Bush could have stolen the election from Mr. Kennedy as the latter would have won by a huge landslide, The Truth of which could not be hidden.  There is no way Bush, Jnr. could have defeated Kennedy, Jnr. except for assassination which is precisely what Poppy Bush & Bush, Jnr. did.  History repeats itself especially when the one manipulating history is George Herbert Walker Bush.  He murdered President Kennedy and thirty~six years later, George Herbert Walker Bush & George Walker Bush murdered John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Jnr.  The two pairs of fathers & sons are complete opposites of each other but each father & son are very similar in many respects.  To put it succinctly, President Kennedy & his son, John, Jnr., are sterling examples of goodness.  George Herbert Walker Bush & his son, George W., are the epitome of pure evil, genuine satanic evil.    

Please note:  The assassination of  Mr. John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Jnr. has caused the demise of his publication, "George Magazine".  This is also quite convenient for the illegitimate Resident of the White House as indubitably THE TRUTH about the purloined presidential election 2000 as well as many other TRUTHS about George Walker Bush & George Herbert Walker Bush would have been revealed in Mr. Kennedy's magazine.

Bush were elected to the presidency & vice~presidency of the USA in November 1980.  John Lennon was for many years under constant scrutiny & harassment by the government of the USA which began during Richard Nixon's first administration.  Nixon attempted to have John Lennon deported but was unsuccessful.  John won his case against the United States' Department of Immigration & eventually became an American citizen.  Mr. Lennon also retained his British citizenship.  After his son, Sean, was born in 1975, John Lennon "retired" from the music world & became a house husband.  Mr. Lennon was safe during those five years but the moment he decided to revive his career, he once again became a serious problem for the government of the USA, specifically for the newly elected ultra right wing conservative Reagan~Bush Administration, therefore the incoming administration permanently eliminated John Lennon.

     "Who Killed John Lennon?" by Fenton Bresler 

(Part 1 of 2) 

"Laurel and Hardy, that's John and Yoko. And we stand a better chance under that guise because all the serious people like Martin Luther King and Kennedy and Gandhi got shot." ~ John Lennon 

~ Part 1 ~ 

Bresler begins by questioning the "lone nut" theory. Since 1835, 15 men and 2 women have attacked "nationally prominent political leaders in sixteen separate incidents." Of those 17, only 3 have been ruled insane by law. Mark David Chapman was never found to be legally insane. "The 'lone nut' theory simply does not stand up as an all~embracing explanation covering all -- or even most ~ instances of American political assassination." Bresler offers the possibility that "Lennon, the politically most active rock star of his generation... was shot dead outside his own home by a killer who was merely a tool, a human gun used and controlled by others to destroy a uniquely powerful radical figure who was likely to prove a rallying point for mass opposition to the policies soon to be implemented... by the new United States government headed by Ronald Reagan." Bresler quotes the late radio journalist Mae Brussell, who broke the Watergate story 2 months before the Woodward~Bernstein expose'. Brussell had no doubts: "It was a conspiracy. Reagan had just won the election. They knew what kind of president he was going to be. There was only one man who could bring out a million people on demonstration in protest at his policies ~ and that was Lennon." Bresler speculates that Chapman was a "Manchurian Candidate," brainwashed and pre-programmed to kill on command. When the moment had arrived, Chapman received his signal and performed his task. 

~ The CIA and Mind Control ~ 

In April 1950, the CIA began work on PROJECT BLUEBIRD, the agency's fledgling attempt at mind control. "Within two years this had progressed into the substantially enlarged PROJECT ARTICHOKE. According to a later CIA internal memorandum, PROJECT ARTICHOKE was intended to 'exploit operational lines, scientific methods and knowledge that can be utilized in altering the attitudes, beliefs, thought processes and behaviour patterns of agent personnel. This will include the application of tested psychiatric and psychological techniques including the use of hypnosis in conjunction with drugs.' In turn, only one year later, in April 1953, PROJECT ARTICHOKE became MKULTRA, the generic name for a series of on-going investigations by the agency's Technical Services Staff." Some might object that pre~programming a subject to be a "killer on command" violates the common wisdom that one cannot be hypnotised to do something that is contrary to one's individual morals. Yet not all "experts" are in agreement on this. For example Milton Kline, a New York psychologist and former president of the American Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis believes it is *not* impossible to create a "Manchurian Candidate." According to Kline, "It cannot be done by everyone. It cannot be done consistently, but it can be done." "There seems little doubt that sophisticated techniques have now reached the stage where, if murder is desired, a killer, once programmed and 'on hold', can be triggered into action." 

~ Sirhan Sirhan ~ 

Bresler suggests that Sirhan Sirhan, the supposed lone assassin of Robert F. Kennedy, was a pre~programmed killer. Seven years after the RFK assassination, Sirhan was interviewed by psychiatrists. These recorded interviews were analysed with the help of a Psychological Stress Evaluator (PSE), a device which measures micro-tremors in the voice. Based on the PSE, former high~ranking intelligence officer Charles McQuiston stated: "I'm convinced that Sirhan wasn't aware of what he was doing. He was in a hypnotic trance when he pulled the trigger... Everything in the PSE charts tells me that someone else was involved in the assassination ~ and that Sirhan was programmed through hypnosis to kill RFK. What we have here is a real live 'Manchurian Candidate.'" After examining Sirhan's PSE charts, Dr. John W. Heisse, Jr., president of the International Society of Stress Analysis, agreed with McQuiston: "Sirhan kept repeating certain phrases. This clearly revealed he had been programmed to put himself into a trance."

~ Government Surveillance ~ 

During a December, 1971 rally at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), undercover FBI agents recorded remarks made by Lennon and others. This is only one case of many, all pointing to a pattern of consistent governmental spying upon Lennon. Under the Freedom of Information Act, Bresler obtained U.S. government files on Lennon. The files show that Lennon was under constant government surveillance, especially during the years 1971~1972. For example, in an April 10, 1972 memorandum from J. Edgar Hoover to the FBI's New York office, Hoover orders his agents to "...promptly initiate discrete efforts to locate subject [Lennon] and remain aware of his activities and movements. Handle inquiries only through established sources... Careful attention should be given to reports that subject is heavy narcotics user and any information developed in this regard should be furnished to narcotics authorities and immediately furnished to bureau in form suitable for dissemination." "Lennon knew from early in 1972 that he was under constant surveillance, being followed in the streets and with his telephone tapped." The ex~Beatle was aware of the surveillance by secret police agencies and so stated on several occasions. For example, in December 1975 he told one interviewer, "We knew we were being wire~tapped... there was a helluva lot of guys coming in to fix the phones." 

~ Moral Turpitude ~ 

One of the methods used by the U.S. government to harass Lennon was the threat of deportation. The government had extra leverage in its efforts due to a previous conviction against Lennon which charged him with "moral turpitude." On October 18, 1968, in Britain, Lennon and Ono had been arrested and charged with possession of 1.5 ounces of marijuana. Two weeks before the bust, Lennon had been warned that the police were out to get him because he was a "loudmouth." As a precaution, he had (as he put it) "cleaned the house out [of drugs]." Nevertheless, marijuana was found in the house by the police. According to Lennon, he had been set up. His opinion is backed up by the fact that the arresting officer was later sentenced to two years in prison for planting evidence in other cases. In order that Ono would not be charged, Lennon "copped a plea". Charges against Yoko Ono were dropped and Lennon was fined and found guilty of "an offence of moral turpitude." At the time of their arrest, Yoko Ono was pregnant and almost suffered a miscarriage. Although she was immediately hospitalised, a month later she lost the baby. "On being told the end of their child's unborn life was near, Lennon had a tape recorder brought into the hospital room and, with a stethoscope microphone, he recorded his second son's failing heartbeats before he died." 

~ Political Activism ~ 

Examples of Lennon's political activism are seen in songs such as "Give Peace a Chance," "Power to the People," and "Working Class Hero." In an interview published in *Rolling Stone* (and later as a book entitled *Lennon Remembers*), Lennon called the song "Working Class Hero" a "...song for the revolution... It's for the people like me who are working class." In the interview, Lennon further states that "...the people who are in control and in power, and the class system and the whole bullshit bourgeois scene is exactly the same except that there are a lot of middle~class kids with long hair walking around in trendy clothes... The same bastards are in control, the same people are runnin' everything... They're doing exactly the same things, selling arms to South Africa, killing blacks on the street, people are living in fucking poverty with rats crawling all over them. It's the same. It just makes you puke." "With Lennon, rock had become revolutionary ~ and for real. He and Yoko took part in demonstrations, they campaigned for a public inquiry into the case of James Hanratty, convicted of murder and hanged in the early 1960s... they marched for the IRA [Irish Republican Army] and they called for help for striking shipbuilders." 

~ The Invisible Assassins ~ 

Bresler interviewed Arthur O'Connor, the lieutenant who was the commanding officer of the twentieth precinct of the New York police that dealt with Lennon's murder. He quotes O'Connor as saying, "As far as you are trying to build up some kind of conspiracy, I would support you in that line. Like I said originally over the phone, if this gentleman [Chapman] wanted to get away with it, he could have got away with it. There was the subway across the road and no one around to stop him." Instead, once Chapman had accomplished his task, he calmly sat and waited for police to come. "Why one method rather than the other, the amateur as against the professional? Because that way you avoid any awkward questions. If Lennon had been gunned down by a professional killer, the whole world would have known: such swift expert assassinations carry their own individual hallmark. It would have been obvious what had happened and, with Lennon's history of anti~government radical political activity, there would have been [an in~depth investigation]." "But if you program an amateur to do the job, a so~called 'nut', very few questions are asked."

The Assassination Of John Lennon

The scene outside New York's spooky old Dakota apartment building on the evening of December 8, 1980, was as surreal as it was horrifying. John Lennon, probably the world's most famous rock star, lay semiconscious, haemorrhaging from four flat~tipped bullets blasted into his back. His wife Yoko Ono held his head in her arms and screamed (just like on her early albums).

A few yards away a pudgy young man stood eerily still, peering down into a paperback book. Moments earlier he had dropped into a military firing stance ~ legs spread for maximum balance, two hands gripping his .38 revolver to steady his aim ~ and blown away the very best Beatle. Now he leafed lazily through the pages of the one novel even the most chronically stoned and voided~out ninth grader will actually read, J. D. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye.

The Dakota doorman shouted at the shooter, Mark David Chapman, "Do you know what you've done?"

"I just shot John Lennon," Chapman replied, accurately enough.

It was a tragedy of Kerkegaardian pointlessness. There was only one apparent way to squeeze any sense from it; write it off as random violence by a "wacko."

"He walked past me and then I heard in my head, 'Do it, do it, do it,' over and over again, saying 'Do it, do it, do it,' like that," Chapman, preternaturally serene, recalled in a BBC documentary several years after going to prison. "I don't remember aiming. I must have done, but I don't remember drawing a bead or whatever you call it. And I just pulled the trigger steady five times."

Chapman described his feeling at the time of the shooting as "no emotion, no anger, dead silence in the brain."

His unnatural tone sounded all~too~familiar. British lawyer/journalist Fenton Bresler took it as a tip~off. Chapman was a brainwashed hit man carrying out someone else's contract.

"Mark David Chapman," writes Bresler, "is in many ways as much the victim of those who wanted to kill John Lennon as Lennon himself."

Prosecutors, as a loss for motive, opted for the cliché: Chapman did it for the attention~ the troublesome American preoccupation with grabbing that elusive fifteen minutes of fame propels many a daily~newspaper~journalist~cum~pop~sociologist into raptures of sanctimony. But Arthur O'Connor, the detective who spent more time with Chapman immediately following the murder than anyone else, saw it another way.

"It is definitely illogical to say that Mark Committed the murder to make himself famous. He did not want to talk to the press from the very start. It's possible Mark could have been used by somebody. I saw him the night of the murder. I studied him intensely. He looked as if he could have been programmed."

O'Connor was speaking to Bresler, and publicly for the first time. Bresler's book "Who Killed John Lennon?" offers the most cogent argument that Lennon's murder was not the work of yet another "lone nut."

Conspiracy theories abounded after the Lennon assassination, many rather cruelly fingering Yoko as the mastermind. Another focused on Paul who, by this line of reasoning, blamed Yoko for engineering his arrest in Japan on reefer charges. The Lennon conspiracy turns up on radio talk shows with some frequency, where hosts fend off callers with the "Why bother to kill that guy?" defence.

Only Bresler's thesis, that Chapman was a mind~controlled assassin manipulated by some right-wing element possibly connected to the newly elected (and not even inaugurated) Reagan apparatus of reaction, transcends the confines of pure speculation, extending into the realm of actual investigation.

Even so, Bresler's book a little too often substitutes rhetorical questions ("What does that steady repetition of a voice saying 'Do it, do it, do it,' over and over again in Mark's head sound like to you?") for evidentiary argument. We can forgive him for that failing. Bresler tracked the case for eight years, conducted unprecedented interviews, and extracted a ream of previously unreleased government documents. But unlike researchers into the assassinations of the Kennedys and Martin Luther King, he did not have volumes of evidence gathered by any official investigation, even a flawed one, to fall back on. The New York police had their man, the case was closed the very night of the murder - and, anyway, what political reason could possibly exist for gunning down the composer of "I Am the Walrus"?

In building his case, Bresler established some key points that put the lie to any "Who would want to kill an aging rock star?" brush~off.

Richard Nixon, his administration and other right~wing politicians (including ultraconservative ancient Senator Strom Thurmond, who personally memoed Attorney General John Mitchell on the matter) were fixated on what they saw as the Lennon problem. To them, the politically outspoken singer~songwriter was an insidious subversive of the worst kind, the famous and beloved kind.

J. Edgar Hoover shared their concerns. One page of Lennon's FBI file bears the handwritten, block~lettered, under lined words, ALL EXTREMISTS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED DANGEROUS. The government went all~out to deny Lennon his longed~for permanent U.S. residency, and more than that, to deport him altogether (that was the subject of Thurmond's memo).

Lennon's FBI file ~ at nearly three hundred pages as chubby as Hoover himself - reveals that he was under "constant surveillance." Nor did the G~men keep a particularly low profile around the ex~Beatle, apparently attempting to harass him into silence or at least drive him nuts, similar to the tactic they had used on Martin Luther King, Jr., a few short but eventful years earlier.

In late 1972, when the "surveillance" was at its peak, Lennon told humorist Paul Krassner, "Listen, if anything happens to Yoko and me, it was not an accident."

The FBI and the CIA tracked Lennon at least from his "Free John Sinclair" concert in 1969 until 1976 ~ even though by then Lennon had won his immigration battle and dropped out of not only political activism but public life altogether into what turned out to be a five~year period of seclusion. His apartment was watched, he was followed, his phone was tapped.

Placing a person under "constant surveillance" and ordering that person executed are admittedly two different things. Nevertheless, Bresler's point is that the government did not consider John Lennon a harmless rock 'n' roller whose awkward entrance into the world of political activism often carried a high cringe factor (as in his Montreal "bed~in").

He was viewed as a dangerous radical who needed to be stopped.

And in a way that official paranoia might have been justified, because as embarrassing as Lennon and Ono's political publicity stunts occasionally became, John Lennon was always capable of seizing the spotlight and speaking directly to millions of young people who venerated him.

With unfettered access to the media, his power was immense, at least potentially so, and recognized by more experienced radicals like Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman, who linked themselves to Lennon, clinging to close that they made the rock star uncomfortable.

Lennon was killed just four years after the intense FBI/CIA surveillance ceased. In those intermittent years, Jimmy Carter was president ~ a Democrat who kept the two gestapo~ish agencies more or less in check.

But in December 1980, when John Lennon's first album in half a decade was high on the charts, Carter was a lame duck chief executive, having lost his re~election bid to Ronald Reagan. Reagan's campaign was managed by career secret agent William Casey, who under President Reagan became the CIA's most freewheeling chief since Allen Dulles. The new far~right administration would reassemble the intelligence services and grant them a cheerful carte blanche.

The forces that tried desperately to neutralize Lennon for at least seven years lost power in 1976. Lennon's government dossier ends in that year. In 1980, as those forces were preparing to retake control of the government, "dangerous extremist" John Lennon emerged from retirement. Within a few months he was murdered.

The paper trail that might support the conspiracy theory is a little thin, however. It doesn't extend much beyond the airline ticket found in Chapman's hotel room; a Hawaii~New York connection departing December 5. But Chapman had actually purchased a Hawaii~Chicago ticket to depart December 2, with no connecting flight. The ticket found after his arrest had apparently been altered. None of his friends knew that he travelled on to New York. They thought he went to Chicago for a three~day stay.

Bresler concludes that the Lennon assassination, which, as Chapman himself noted in a rare interview, "ended an era," bears similarities to another assassination that took place twelve years earlier: the murder of Robert F. Kennedy.

RFK's apparent lone killer, Sirhan Sirhan, and Chapman (coincidentally?) shared a defence psychiatrist. But while Dr. Bernard Diamond couldn't skirt the obvious fact that Sirhan was under hypnosis (Diamond wrote it off as self~hypnosis), he labelled Chapman a "paranoid schizophrenic."

The court disagreed. Chapman even now has never had more than routine psychiatric care since entering his guilty plea. He was not sent to a mental hospital, but to Attica State Prison. He was judged legally "rational."

Bresler clears up a few widely disseminated misconceptions about Mark David Chapman:

While any mention of his name is now accompanied by the phrase "deranged fan," Chapman was anything but. He was no more or less ardent a Beatles/Lennon fan than anyone of his generation. His real rock hero was Todd Rundgren, a cynical studio craftsman who could not be further from Lennon in artistic sensibility. Notwithstanding Chapman's announcement months after the murder that he "killed Lennon to gain prominence to promote the reading of The Catcher in the Rye," Chapman never exhibited strong feelings about the novel until shortly before the shooting. (Catcher, Bresler muses, may have been used as a device to trigger Chapman's "programming.")

After the murder, major media ran bizarre stories of Chapman's supposed growing identification with John Lennon ~ at one point he even "re~baptized" himself as Lennon, according to Newsweek. These stories were all quite fascinating, but there was no evidence to back any of them up. (It is true that when Chapman quit his last job he signed out as "John Lennon," then crossed the name out, but Bresler interprets this, reasonably, as Chapman saying, "John Lennon, I am going to kill you," rather than "John Lennon, I am you."

Chapman was not a "loner." He was for most of his life a normally social individual and a camp counsellor who had a special rapport with kids.

Bresler also notes that when Chapman signed up for a YMCA overseas program, he selected an odd destination: Beirut ~ a perfect place, says Bresler, for Chapman, a once gentle soul, to be "blooded," that is, desensitised to violence.

A final note to the mystery of Mark David Chapman: As he was ready to go to trial and his diligent public defender was winding up six months spent assembling Chapman's defence, the accused killer suddenly decided to change his plea to guilty. His lawyer was perplexed and more than a little perturbed. But Chapman was determined. He said he was acting on instructions from a "small male voice" that spoke to him in his cell.

Chapman interpreted it as the voice of God.

Bush (Poppy Bush) and his right wing assassins strike again via the same method, the same time of the year (shortly prior to election day) , and a similar person targeted:  a U.S. (liberal) Democrat Senator up for re~election.  This time the assassins eliminated the wife as well, therefore assuring Mrs. Wellstone is unable to take her husband's place in the U.S. Senate.

Does the scenario above sound familiar?  It certainly does.  Two years ago (shortly prior to the election 2000), Governor Mel Carnahan, Democrat from Missouri, was killed in a plane crash on 16 October 2000.  Governor Carnahan's opponent was incumbent Republican Senator John Ashcroft (currently the non~attorney general in Dubya's illegal Non~administration).  Governor Carnahan who was leading in the senatorial race still won the election despite being deceased.  His widow, Jean Carnahan, was appointed by the Governor of Missouri to take her husband's place.

This is the third airplane crash of this type in three years:  John F. Kennedy, Jnr., Governor Mel Carnahan, and Senator Paul Wellstone.  These are all political assassinations.

President Al Gore has decided not to run in 2004.  Despite all the positive signs of a man who was behaving as a prospective candidate, in a sudden announcement on Sunday 15 December 2002, Mr. Gore stated his decision not to run in 2004.  Originally, Al Gore was planning on announcing his decision after the holidays.  Why the sudden change of heart?

Below are excerpts from Mr. Gore's interview on the American programme, CBS' "Sixty Minutes" which was broadcasted on Sunday 15 December 2002.  

"I've decided that I will not be a candidate for president in 2004... And I found that I've come to closure on this. I don't think it's the right thing for me to be a candidate in 2004. 

I've run for president twice, and there are many other exciting ways to serve. I intend to remain actively involved in politics. I want to help whoever the Democratic Party's nominee is in 2004 to win the election. I'm going to explore a lot of other opportunities. 

I personally have the energy and the drive and the ambition to make another campaign. But I don't think it's the right thing for me to do.

I think that a campaign that would be a rematch between myself and President Bush would inevitably involve a focus on the past - that would in some measure distract from the focus on the future that I think all campaigns have to be about.

The last campaign was an extremely difficult one. And while I have the energy and drive to go out there and do it again, I think that there are a lot of people within the Democratic Party who felt exhausted by that. Who felt like, 'okay, I don't want to go through that again'. And I'm frankly sensitive to that feeling.  

I think there has to be an unrelenting focus on the economy.  

I think that the policies they [the Bush administration] are committed to do not work. And I think that if they don't change them, which I don't think they're likely to, that it's going to be apparent to people.

I've faced the decision on running for president twice before. And both times I have decided to jump in. And there was a big part of me that sort of assumed that that's what I would do this time around.

I make this decision in the full awareness that it probably means that I will never have another opportunity to run for president."

Why the suddenness of Mr. Gore's decision?  Many people are of the opinion that Al Gore was threatened.  Was he or his family threatened?  The fact Mr. Gore is not forthcoming as to his actual reasons, provides serious consideration that the Gores' safety and well~being are being compromised.  We realise that whatever the reasons behind Mr. Gore's decision is only his  and his family's business but we certainly are extremely concerned about President Gore and his family.  We as well as all Gore supporters care very deeply about them.  

If anything untoward should happen, this would NOT be an accident but another increase in the Bush body count.  

If anything suddenly occurs to ANY web master who strongly opposes the Bush regime, then the world needs to realise, this too was an addition to the Bush body count.

Bush Body Count

General James Rose: General Rose recommended George W. Bush for a pilot position with the Texas National Guard. He died of Unknown Causes in 1993. He was immediately buried and no autopsy was performed. 

Orlando Letelier: He was torn to bits by a car bomb on the streets of Washington DC just before he was to testify about the Chilean dictator Pinochet. After the bombing, CIA Director George H. W. Bush told the FBI that there had been no Chilean involvement whatsoever. In 1991 the post-Pinochet Chilean Supreme Court asked George H. W. Bush if he would submit to questioning. He refused. 

Ronni Moffit: She was Letelier's assistant. She and her husband were riding in the car with Letelier when the bomb exploded. Mr. Moffit survived. Ronni didn't. 

Amiram Nir: He was a former Israeli agent who was in Jerusalem with George Bush during Iran Contra. He went under the assumed name of Pat Weber. Nir was scheduled to testify to the Senate subcommittee and it was feared he would reveal the truth. He perished, following the shooting-down of his aircraft with missiles from the helicopter of a man called Gene Tatum, 25-year CIA deep cover agent. 

Senator John Tower: He was appointed by the Reagan/Bush Administration to chair the bipartisan committee to investigate the Iran/Contra scandals. He directed the Tower Report and had all the Iran Contra documents and knew the inside of the story. He was killed in an uninvestigated airplane crash later in Georgia in 1991. Also killed was his daughter, Marian. 

Mario Ruiz Massieu: An apparent suicide. He was facing charges that he laundered money for the cocaine cartels. A Houston, Texas jury had found that $8 million in his bank accounts was paid to him by drug cartels. 

Steve Kangas: His web site, Liberalism Resurgent, was meticulously researched and presented such a problem to the "real boss" of George Bush, Richard Scaife, that he hired a private detective to look into Kangas' past. Steve Kangas was found in a 39th-floor bathroom outside of Scaife's offices at One Oxford Centre, in Pittsburgh, an apparent suicide. Mr. Kangas, a very prolific writer, left no note. He had brought a fully-packed suitcase of clothes with him to Pittsburgh. He bought a burglar alarm shortly before he left for Pittsburgh. Why did he need a burglar alarm if he was going to commit suicide? An avowed advocate of gun control, he nevertheless bought a gun. What was he afraid of? Why did he go to Pittsburgh? After his death, his computer was sold for $150 and its hard drive wiped clean. Everything in his apartment was thrown away. 

Mohammed Zia al-huk: Dictator of Pakistan, and knew all about Iran/Contra, the training, funding, and arming of narco-terrorists such as Osama bin Laden. In August 1988, the same day George Bush got the Republican nomination, his plane crashed into the ground with all engines running. The Pakistanis kept the bodies around (in violation of Islamic custom) for weeks, awaiting US experts. They showed up three weeks later and never checked the bodies. Why? 

Malcolm Baldridge: Commerce Secretary May 1987. Baldridge was familiar with the Bush family ties to the Communist Chinese. He died in a mysterious horseback riding accident. 

Karla Faye Tucker: She was executed in spite of enormous protest from the public, even those religious groups that advocate the death penalty. Even Pat Robertson thought that Karla was truly repentant and asked George W. Bush to spare her life. He refused. Afterward, in a Talk Magazine interview, this stalwart of the Republican Party made fun of the woman whose death warrant he had sanctioned. How compassionate! As of August 1999, George W. Bush signed his 93rd death warrant.

George de Mohrenschildt: A rich Russian oilman, who was described with his wife as being the two people friendliest to Oswald at the time of the assassination. De Mohrenschildt was the man who moved Oswald to Dallas. In the late 1970's, shortly before the first meeting of the House Select Committee on Assassinations, de Mohrenschildt started seeing a new doctor in town. He quickly became mentally unstable, at which time his wife convinced him to stop seeing the doctor. They moved away and left a false forwarding address. On the same day that the Committee tried to contact him about testifying, he was found dead of a gun shot wound. In his personal address book was the entry Bush, George H.W. and Zapata Petroleum Midland (the oil company owned by George.H. W. Bush). 

Barry Seal: He was supposedly murdered by Medellin cartel members, but a 6-month investigation by Sam Dalton, attorney for three of the accused murderers, into Mr. Seal's life and death uncovered some interesting points. The accused's cartel connections were well known, but not their association with Oliver North's enterprise. Mr. Seal was a drug smuggler, up to his armpits in smuggling cocaine for - guess who? - the CIA. During the penalty phase of the Columbians' trial, testimony by one government witness on the activities of Mr. Seal was so damaging to the government, that 2 of the jurors wanted to change their verdict to "not guilty". The personal telephone number of George H. W. Bush was found in the trunk of Mr. Seal's car. 

Florence Martin: She was Barry Seal's bookkeeper and was found in October 1994, sprawled across her bed, shot three times in the head through a pillow. Nothing in the house was taken, including her billfold (in plain view) or her late husband's gun collection. There was no evidence of a robbery. 

William Colby: This former CIA director disappeared in an apparent boating accident, and a body was later discovered (minus the life jacket Colby's friends insisted he always wore while boating) and buried promptly. John DeCamp, a lawyer from Lincoln, Nebraska, and Colby's close friend and confidant, said Colby's death was not an accident. He stated that Colby was prepared to disclose that missing P.O.W.'s were working for a dope smuggling operation orchestrated by General Colin Powell, Pentagon official Richard Armitage, and George H. W. Bush. 

Mrs. E. Howard Hunt:  In December 1972, while George H. W. Bush was at the Republican National Convention, a United Airlines flight carrying Mrs. E. Howard Hunt, CIA operative and wife of E. Howard Hunt, (CIA operative and suspect in the Kennedy assassination) crashed. Believed to be carrying $25,000 in "hush money", she died in this crash. 

Danny Casolaro:  He was working on a book that tied together the scandals surrounding the presidency of George H. W. Bush. He told his friends he was going to "bring back" the head of the Octopus. Instead, his body was found in a hotel in Martinsburg, West Virginia, on August 10, 1991, an apparent suicide. 

Don McCoy:  Mr. McCoy had agreed the day before to turn state's evidence in an FBI investigation that threatened some of El Paso's most prominent business leaders. On February 19, 1988, he took off from El Paso International Airport, banked to the right and headed southwest for approximately 2 * miles before it slammed into the I-10 right-of-way and exploded. With him was his secretary and her 11-year old son. All three were killed. 

Olof Palme:  He was the prime minister of Sweden, assassinated in 1986. Oliver North, the golden boy of the Bush/Reagan machine, had met with Mr. Palme to discuss the possibility of obtaining false end-user certificates for the plethora of weapons that were being purchased, so that they would seem to have come from a country other than the U.S. Mr. Palme refused to participate, after the plan was presented to him. He was dead within weeks. 

Archbishop Oscar Romero:  Archbishop Romero was a true hero, speaking out against atrocities by a Bush/Reagan backed fascist government. He refused to appear in public with any army or government personnel, and was a voice for the thousands of tortured, slaughtered and oppressed in El Salvador. He was shot in the back while preparing Mass. The death of Archbishop Romero is one among many. There is not enough space to list the hundreds of thousands who died under Reagan/Bush-backed, right-wing governments.

James Hatfield:  Mr. Hatfield was the author of Fortunate Son, an unauthorized biography of George W. Bush. The book detailed Bush's cocaine use and cover up of a cocaine arrest. He was found Wednesday, July 18, in a motel room, an apparent suicide.
